Who is Isibani Organisation?

Background

Isibani Organisation is a registered, community-rooted nonprofit based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. Established in 2021, we work across the King Cetshwayo District and uMkhanyakude District, to uplift rural and township communities through integrated programmes focused on education, digital skills, youth development, health, and child protection.

The word “Isibani” means “light” - and that perfectly captures our mission: to be a light in dark and forgotten places, offering support and opportunity to children and families living in poverty, facing violence, or locked out of digital and economic access.

Our Mission

To strengthen and transform vulnerable communities by empowering children and youth through access to education, skills development, health awareness, psychosocial support, and a culture of dignity and opportunity.

Our Vision

A South Africa where every child is safe, every youth is skilled, and every family is supported to thrive - regardless of their location, background, or income level.

Our Core Values

Dignity First – Every person deserves to be seen, respected, and supported.

Community Ownership – Sustainable change begins with local leadership.

Equality & Inclusion – We serve without bias, with special focus on the most excluded.

Innovation for Impact – We use practical tools like mobile labs and offline learning to overcome real-world barriers.

Collaboration – We work with churches, schools, NGOs, and government for broader reach and deeper change.
